Last 10 December 2018, MMDA has held its first-ever Kiddie Summit on Solid Waste Management with the theme, “Start Them Young.” With the help of Local Government Units’ Solid Waste Management leaders and the Department of Education, the 2018 Kiddie Summit was able to gather 530 students from 3rdGrade to 6thGrade and 93 teachers from 75 schools in Metro Manila.
PARMS spearheaded the gathering of sponsors from the private sector and mobilizing of recyclable materials such as paper, plastic, metal, and glass. PARMS also collaborated with the MMDA, Pasig Local Government, DENR, and private groups to set up twenty one (21) stations with fun educational activities on proper Solid Waste Management that engaged students, teachers, and support staff.
In the summit, Nestlé supervised three modules from Project Second Chance (Dice Match, Erase Waste, and Unscramble) for participants to enjoy.
